This ultrasonic distance sensor measures the distance of its target by emitting ultrasonic sound waves. The reflected sound is converted into an electrical signal that is registered by the Reporter.
Assembly by Crodeon into a polycarbonate enclosure with stainless steel M12 connector allows for direct compatibility with every Reporter. Crodeon allows extending this sensor to a length of 30m using M12 extension cords.
This sensor uses the MB7389 HRXL-MaxSonar-WRMT by MaxBotix Inc. (USA). This advanced weather resistant sensor is designed for level monitoring of liquids, outdoors or in tank applications. Contact us for other applications such as object detection or bin level monitoring.
The HRXL-MaxSonar-WRMT ignores smaller targets and only reports the range to target with the largest acoustic return, using filtering firmware. The sensor will also reject periodic noise, even noise that has a higher amplitude than the acoustic return from the target. This gives users the flexibility to consistently range larger targets in the presence of clutter and noise. If the largest target is removed from the field of view, the sensor will switch to the target that gives the next largest detectable return.
Reporter sends its measurement data to the cloud (Crodeon Dashboard) in realtime. This means that every small change in distance or level is constantly being registered. You can view your live data or download historical logs as an Excel export. Measurement intervals and alarm settings can be altered on the Crodeon Dashboard as well.
Every Reporter comes with a rest API that you can use for seamless data integration into your own systems or software. This direct data connection allows you to automate other processes based on your measurement data, such as opening valves or turning on pumps when a level exceeds a certain limit.
